Recently, the Chinese Materials Research Society, in collaboration with leading experts in the domestic new materials field, successfully organized the "Technology Innovation China" Jizhou Tour event. This event was aimed at addressing the challenge of insufficient communication between enterprises and experts, promoting deeper integration among industry, academia, and research, and supporting enterprises in their transformation and upgrading efforts.
Academician Peng Shou, Chief Expert of China National Building Materials Group; Professor Han Gaorong from Zhejiang University; Professor Sun Shizhong, Vice President of China National Glass Materials Research Institute; Professor Yuan Jian, Director of Hebei Shahe Glass Technology Research Institute; Professor Qin Xusheng, Vice President of the Strategic Consulting Institute of China National Glass Materials Research Institute; Professor Zhang Zengzhi, Secretary-General of the Chinese Materials Research Society; Mr. Zhang Liyong, Party Secretary and Director of the Management Committee of Jizhou Development Zone; and representatives from enterprises in Jizhou District, including Zhongbo North New Materials Co., Ltd., participated in this event.

During the event, experts conducted on-site inspections at the production lines of enterprises, including Zhongbo North New Materials Co., Ltd., and engaged in face-to-face exchanges with enterprise technical personnel to collaboratively explore technical challenges and propose solutions. This in-depth, hands-on communication enabled the experts to gain a more direct and comprehensive understanding of the enterprises' operational realities. As a key enterprise within the Jizhou Development Zone, Zhongbo North New Materials Co., Ltd. has encountered significant challenges in recent years due to overcapacity resulting from the sluggish construction industry market. Among its two highly capable production lines, one has ceased operations, thereby raising critical issues regarding the transformation and upgrading of China's glass industry as well as the employment situation of more than 400 employees.

In response to the specific requirements of enterprises, including Zhongbo Northern New Materials Co., Ltd., a team of experts conducted on-site consultations. Led by Academician Peng Shou, Professor Han Gaorong, Professor Sun Shizhong, Professor Yuan Jian, and Professor Qin Xusheng, the experts engaged in detailed discussions regarding technological advancement, production capacity optimization, and market expansion strategies. They subsequently proposed actionable and feasible solutions tailored to the enterprises' needs.

Professor Zhang Zengzhi, Secretary-General of the Chinese Materials Research Society, emphasized that the society will continue to actively advance the "Technology Innovation China" local tour. By establishing a collaborative platform for industry-academia-research cooperation, it aims to facilitate deeper engagement between enterprises and experts, promote technological innovation, accelerate the transformation of research outcomes, and infuse new momentum into regional economic growth.

Zhang Liyong, Party Secretary and Director of the Management Committee of Jizhou Development Zone, extended his warm congratulations on the successful hosting of this event and conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Chinese Materials Research Society and all experts for their long-term concern and support for Jizhou Development Zone. He emphasized that Jizhou Development Zone will continue to enhance its business environment, strengthen policy support and service guarantees, and create more favorable conditions for industry-academia-research collaboration and enterprise development.

The successful organization of the "Technology and Innovation China" Jizhou Tour event not only addressed practical challenges for enterprises such as China Glass North New Materials Co., Ltd., but also provided fresh momentum for technological innovation and industrial upgrading in Jizhou Development Zone and even the city of Tianjin. Moving forward, the Chinese Materials Research Society will continue to capitalize on its strengths, consistently advance the "Technology and Innovation China" local tour, promote deeper collaboration among industry, academia, and research, and make significant contributions toward the goal of establishing a "materials powerhouse”.
