On April 23, 2024, the Symposia chairs meeting for the "Chinese Materials Conference 2024 and the 2nd World Materials Conference" was grandly held in Beijing. The meeting was attended by Academician Bingbo Wei, President of the Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS), Professor Zengzhi Zhang, Secretary-General of CMRS, and the chairs of various ssymposium. The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Zengzhi Zhang.

The "Chinese Materials Conference 2024" is scheduled to be held from July 8-11, 2024, at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center in Guangdong Province, concurrently with the 2nd World Materials Conference. The conference will cover five major themes: energy materials, environmental materials, advanced structural materials, functional materials, and materials design, preparation, and evaluation. Additionally, a series of special symposia will be held, including the Youth Symposium, the Special New Materials Symposium, the Materials Education Symposium, and the Materials Journals Symposium. An international exhibition of new materials research instruments and equipment will also be held concurrently.

During the meeting, President Bingbo Wei noted that the organization of the Chinese Materials Conference 2024 and the 2nd World Materials Conference has received approval and strong support from the China Association for Science and Technology. To date, the conference will feature 12 international symposia and 92 domestic ssymposia, totaling 104 symposia, setting a new record. It is expected that over 25,000 participants will attend in person. He highlighted two new features of this year's conference: increased internationalization and the addition of several innovative symposia.
