The 4th Chinese Advanced Material Industry Development Conference was held in Wenzhou with over 6000 participants

On October 8-11, 2023, the fourth Chinese Advanced Materials Industry Development Conference sponsored by the Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS) was held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. More than 6,000 participants from universities, institutions and industry and 51 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering attended this conference. This conference focuses on the development, application and commerce of advanced materials and aims to bring innovation and new breakthroughs to the materials industry.

This conference has set up 72 symposia, involving key basic materials, key energy materials, key information materials, biomedical materials, health and comfort materials, environmental engineering materials, and safety engineering materials in seven categories, focusing on the three major themes of cutting-edge new materials, stranglehold materials, and key basic guarantee materials. During the same period, the conference carried out a series of activities, such as “Science and Innovation China” series activities including one thousand new material experts recommendations, one thousand new material field industrialization achievements recommendations, one thousand new material technology needs release and docking exchange activities and “new material technology broker training course" and "disruptive technology flash”.

At the opening ceremony, General Secretary Zengzhi Zhang and Deputy Mayor Zhenyong Wang have signed the strategic cooperation agreements.

Materials are the physical basis for economic and social development, and new materials are the physical guarantee for high-tech, high-end manufacturing, major projects and emerging industries. The current new materials development of China is that the new materials industry has developed from the basis of weak industry instead of from being rooted fully in the enterprises, while China's new materials basic research has been in the forefront of the world. Therefore this conference aims to integrate the industry, university, research and funds and to accelerate China's new materials enterprises innovation so as to promote the industrialization of new materials technology achievements.
